New York Fashion Week just wouldn’t be the same without a show from Marchesa. The drama, the decadence, the lace!
This time around, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig showed a familiar looking yet still breathtaking collection of gowns and red carpet dresses. While there were also more mini dresses, the bulk of the looks were fit for a queen (or a princess, at the very least).
A color palette that ranged from neutral to metallic gold to bright red wowed the crowd, and we are loving the array of airy, frothy gowns that will make any who is lucky enough to wear them feel just fabulous.

Today’s New York Fashion Week 2012 round up is a spotlight on J. Mendel’s gorgeous Fall collection!
As you can see, this collection included a diverse selection of silhouettes and textures. Flowy, glamorous gowns were offset by plush fur coats and chic separates. A color palette of winter white, black, rust, and mustard yellow dominated this collection.
A few of our favorites were definitely the intricately beaded gown with sexy peekaboo panels, as well as the beautiful trouser look in the upper right hand corner.
Plus, this show marked the debut of J. Mendel’s handbags, including an oversized crocodile tote that was lined with mink and alpaca. So luxe!
Did you enjoy this collection from designer Gilles Mendel, everyone?

For today’s New York Fashion Week Runway Report, we have the brand new collection from Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the designers of Preen.
With a color palette that ranged from midnight blue to electric orange, Preen’s latest collection featured feminine, contrasting prints and a lot of interesting mixing-and-matching. Inspired by Beatrix Potter, this collection almost seemed to be a mash-up of different fabrics, prints and motifs… and we’re loving it!
A favorite of ours? We love all of the knee length skirts paired with dainty blouses.

Hello to our lovely Eve’s Apple fashionistas,
As you know, it’s currently New York Fashion Week… which means runway shows and glitz and glam galore! For the first of our NYFW Runway Reports, we have Prabal Gurung’s bold show. From sleek lines to frothy gowns, Gurung was inspired by the duality of light and dark. We are especially loving the rich blue hues paired with black – the embellished sweatshirt with black leather gloves and electric blue skirt is a knock out.
While the finale dress seems a tad Givenchy-inspired, overall this collection was a beautiful, bold statement. What are your thoughts?

Vanessa Hudgens looked gorgeous as she made an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” rocking a strapless white Pamella Roland dress that was paired with Jimmy Choo heels and a Le Vian bangle.
It’s ultra-easy to score Vansssa’s look right here on Eve’s Apple, simply choose either Robert Rodriguez’s Daniela Dress or Yoana Baraschi’s Vintage Iris Day Dress (for something a bit more casual), and pair with Pour La Victoire’s Rust Snake Pumps and Asha by ADM’s Adorned White Topaz and Peridot Bangle. Voila!
What do you think about Vanessa’s look here, everyone?

Feeling extra feminine and romantic today? What better color to wear than a lovely shade of lavender.
Wearing lavender is almost as calming to the senses as the smell of a fresh lavender flower, and in case you hadn’t heard – muted pastels are so in for spring.
A few of our favorite lavender looks?
- Susana Monaco’s Ruffle Tank Dress
- Velvet’s Tank Dress
- Equipment’s Signature Blouse
- Kara Ross’ Circle Earring with Gemstone and Skin

Today’s Street Style Spotlight is the perfect example of refined cool; it’s edgy with a sense of playfulness.
A great leather jacket and a white t-shirt is always a winning sartorial combination, which is taken to the next level when paired with oh-so-right-now animal print jeans in a subdued grey hue. We’re also loving the casual yet killer black sneaks.
It’s super easy to get the look using pieces from Eve’s Apple, starting with Bleulab’s insanely fun Reversible Snake Print/Black Jean. From there, pair Maggie Ward’s Oversized Top with Bod & Christensen’s Sheep Napa Harley Jacket, and accessorize with a great pair of shades with a Wayfarer shape, like Elizabeth & James’ Park Wayfarer Sunglasses.
Insta-cool!
